The Belgian artist's home in Marrakech is like her portfolio
Belgian Laurens Lennart, founder of the clothing and home accessories brand LRNCE, moved to Morocco in 2015 after graduating from the Royal Academy of Arts in Ghent. Inspired by the work of local tanners, ceramicists, and weavers, she began designing bags, shoes, rugs, and ceramics that she created alongside artisans in their workshops. And she decorated her own home, a small one-story cottage with a shaded porch, using her favorite creative techniques.
White walls serve as a backdrop for simple ceramics with spontaneous patterns, handmade furniture with unexpected decorative elements (a stool with a swivel leg was particularly successful), and embroidered pillows and rugs. Cheerful colors, abstract "awkward" drawings in the spirit of Miro and Picasso are also characteristic of Lawrence's paintings. they can be seen everywhere on the walls of the house.
The designer emphasizes his skepticism towards perfectionism. he believes that the best subjects emerge spontaneously and instinctively, as do the best stylistic combinations. He applied this approach to his home, resulting in an artistic, lively and warm interior.
